What the heck is Rolling Stones anyway? They are performing these days somewhere in western Canada, but I've never known anything about them but the name of the band. I don't know a single piece of music somehow connected to them, but I know a lot of songs by Beatles and Elvis, as well as much music by other musicians, Finnish and foreign.

Hmm... isn't it kind of difficult to say, in many cases, why some artist became famous/popular? They struck a chord... were in the right place at the right time...

What is weird, however, is that they're still together after all these years. Usually the big egos of rock stars get in the way and bands break up.. but apparently Jagger & Co. have put egos aside in favor of $ ;).

If there is traffic on the left lane, it starts to move rightwards, thus causing need to make bigger space between the vehicles on those lanes. And then there are always the sleepers, who don't notice any signs, and drive the left lane until it ends, and then they just push their bumpers to the neighboring lanes, whatever cost. :rolleyes:

Why is anybody famous? Who can predict whom the public likes?

I have actually seen these Rolling Stones in 1980. Even in 1996 they were still pretty good, I missed a chance to see them then. But since the guitarist fell from a tree, they have become more of a nostalgia act for baby boomers. They are now past their peak. In 1996 they were as good as in 1975, maybe better.
