It looks like a Lego house. I would like to think that the Finns do not use bright colors like that one in the middle of a forest or even on a lake shore. Earth tones are more receptive to me in those situations. Cities need the color...Nature provides what enjoy.

It is kind of unusual to use that color on the exterior. The kind of thing you see at home shows. Vey popular events usually, but people just want tips on current styles and choices.

Simberg painted somewhat surrealistic paintings dealing with gloomy subjects. So there were these type of artists at the same time as Gallen Kallela.
